Captain James Cook Caravan Park offers holiday accommodation on Bruny Island, off Tasmania's south coast. Located on the east coast of the Island at Adventure Bay, Captain James Cook Caravan Park offers a range of accommodation including Brand New 1 bedroom self-contained villas with lovely views over Adventure Bay, several 2 bedroom self-contained cabins (one of which has wheelchair access and facilities for guests with a disability). There are also fully furnished caravans, some with units attached. Power and water-serviced camping sites suitable for campervans, tents and campervans are also available, along with a handful of un-powered camping sites.
Park facilities include the Big Green Shed – a welcoming, communal space equipped with a modern kitchen, tables and chairs and a wood heater, 2 under cover BBQ Huts and a modern playground. The Park is also the base for Ol' Kid Fishing Charters. You can join a charter trip for a great day's fishing and to see Bruny Island's dramatic coastline.
The Park has direct access to Adventure Bay Beach – visited by explorer Captain James Cook in his ship the H.M.S Resolution in 1777. Here you can swim, picnic or take the walking tracks into South Bruny national park.
Bruny Island is accessed by a 15 minute car ferry from the town of Kettering, 40 minutes' drive (34 kilometres/21 miles) south of Hobart.
