New Norfolk family needs our help

Logan Tomlin

An appeal has been set up to help the Tomlin family of New Norfolk, who have a 7 year old son suffering from Leukaemia.

Family friend Sandra Langridge got in touch with 7HOFM, to alert us of the Go Fund Me campaign set up to help raise the funds needed to travel to Melbourne for treatment.

Sandra said: “On New Year’s Eve 2014 they found out their son Logan had Leukaemia, and ended up spending almost 8 months in Melbourne. He went into remission in April this year, but on Tuesday (13-06-17) they were told the terrible news that it has returned, and Logan was flown straight to Melbourne.

“At this stage he will need to be in Melbourne for at least 6 months if all goes well. He is only 7 years old ☹… He will require 3 months of intensive chemo and weekly injections into his spine as there are traces in his spinal fluid. Then if all goes well, a bone marrow transplant.

“His parents’ annual leave and sick pay will not cover this. We are hoping to raise as much as possible to keep both his parents there for as long as possible,” Sandra said.

The Go Fund Me campaign raised almost $3000 in just 48 hours when it opened. But they will need more – so if you can help, the page can be found HERE.

Our thoughts are with Logan and his family, and we wish them all the best.
