Fire Doused

A quick response from firefighters has saved a burning unit in Hobart's north overnight.

Residents of the unit on Main Road at Austins Ferry returned home to find a blaze had broken out.

Crews responded to several triple zero calls from surrounding residents and had it out within 8 minutes.

There were initial reports someone was trapped inside but that turned out to be false - the cause of the fire is unclear and investigators are taking a closer look this morning.
