The Leukaemia Foundation is calling on Tasmanians to support Light the Night, an inspiring event to remember, celebrate and give hope to people living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders, and their families.

Families, friends and colleagues will gather at twilight in to give witness to hope for a better future by carrying coloured balloons with a tiny light inside:

  • Gold to REMEMBER a loved one
  • White to CELEBRATE being a blood cancer survivor
  • Blue to GIVE HOPE and show support

In its second year, Light the Night will be a brilliantly inspiring night as local ambassadors relate their experiences and lead gentle evening walks. In the weeks leading up the events, registrants raise funds for blood cancer research and free support services to support patients and their families.

This year, it is projected that 250 Tasmanians will be diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma and blood cancer will be the second biggest cancer killer in Australia after lung cancer.

When:  Wednesday 29th September 2010 at the Hobart City Hall
