KINGSTON COMMUNITY MARKET

This Valentine’s Day, Kingston Rotary Club will launch a regular community market at the site of the old Kingston High School.

The decision follows the successful Mega Community Garage Sale held on behalf of Kingborough Council last October, which involved around 100 stalls.

The new market will be held from 8am – 1pm on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, and will replace the old weekly market at the Kingston Town site.

Stalls selling arts and crafts, local produce, plants, second-hand clothes and bric-a-brac can be expected, together with food vans, a seating area and entertainment such as face painting and buskers.

“We had so much positive feedback from both vendors and attendees at the Mega Sale, we decided to use the same winning formula to make it a regular feature for the growing Kingborough community” said Kingston Rotary Market Chairman, Art Shrimpton.

“Council are keen to see the old Kingston High School site become a vibrant hub for the community, and Kingston Rotary Club were keen to be part of it and help raise funds for our local community projects at the same time.”

Those wishing to have a stall at the market must register beforehand by emailing [email protected], texting 0437 649812 or making contact via the Kingston Rotary Market Facebook page.
