How the golf competition works
HOW GOLF WORKS AT THE OLYMPICS:
* The men's and women's competitions are both 72-hole stroke play tournaments.
* Each player will shoot four rounds of 18 holes over four consecutive days.
* The player with the lowest score in each tournament wins the gold medal, with second and third taking silver and bronze.
* If any of the top three players are tied, a three-hole play-off will determine the positions.
