Footrot Flats 50 Years On Exhibition
This exhibition features the extensive Footrot Flats collection of Peter Phipps, his wife, and family, who have been passionate fans for over 46 years. With over 2,000 items, including rare signed books, original sketches, artwork, comic strips, and more than sixty hand-painted movie cels, along with rare publications and items from around the world. The collection will also show the incredible reach of Footrot Flats, with items from Sweden, Denmark, and Japan, and also showcases everyday objects like packaging, clothing, and stationery, highlighting the comic’s broad cultural impact.
You’ll also find a range of unique and unusual merchandise, with many pieces rarely seen on display. The exhibition also features special items generously lent by fellow collectors and great mates, Wayne and Tim.
The Phipps family’s collection began in March 1980 with the very first Footrot Flats book, and it has continued to grow ever since.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the Footrot Flats movie, so we’ve dedicated a special section to celebrate and share it with the public. This section features some incredible original hand-painted movie cels.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering Footrot Flats for the first time, this exhibition offers a special look into a much-loved piece of history.
