Adam Ford takes us to....Aussie!
Australia welcomed a whopping 8 million international visitors in 2016, which, according to Tourism Australia, contributed $39billion to the Australian economy. Earlier this week in Sydney, travel media from around the globe gathered at the Australian Tourism Exchange to see what’s new for the Aussie tourism industry for the coming 12 months. Adam Ford, editor of The Big Bus tour and travel guide, was there!
Adam got a bit of a sneak peek at what’s new in Aussie travel for the next 12 months. There’s quite a bit happening with Travel.
- Virgin’s Economy X class of travel launched this month – more legroom and hand luggage space.
- Inflight Wi-Fi services for both Qantas and Virgin, this is a big bonus!
There are a number of new hotels opening in all of Australia’s capital cities over the next 12 months..
- Macquarie Point 1 opens in the coming months here in Hobart!
The Great Barrier Reef has attracted its fair share of negative publicity over the past 12 months.
- Queensland Tourism are optimistic and the message is that the reef is open for business.
We've heard of swimming with whale sharks on the Ningaloo Reef in WA, but swimming with humpback whales. would be incredible! With a rebound in humpback whale numbers, this activity is now permitted in a couple of places, including WA and Sunshine Coast.
