7HOFM Local Newsroom dominates audio category at the Tasmanian Media Awards

Two journalists from 7HOFM have been recognised among the best in the state.

Our team took home both awards in the Audio category at the Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance Tasmanian Media Awards, held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Saturday night.

Ebony Abblitt won the Best Audio News Story award for her coverage of the state’s salmon mortality crisis, while Olivia Hicks was awarded the prize for Best Audio Feature, Documentary or Podcast for her iHeart Tassie episode, Romany Wake’s Quest for Change.

Other winners included WIN News’ Brent Costelloe, who was named Journalist of the Year, and also took the award for Best Coverage of a Breaking News Event; and The Mercury’s David Killick, who won The Keith Welsh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Journalism.
