A 15 year old has been charged with the theft of motorbikes across Hobart, Glenorchy and Bridgewater spanning two months.

Police have noted that some of the bikes were expensive models left easily accessible and not fitted with secondary security such as chain locks with anchor points.

They also want to remind owners to record VIN numbers, insure their valuables and secure them as best they can.
