Police continue to investigate serious motorcycle crash

Authorities are calling for witnesses following a serious single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the Bass Highway at Heybridge on Sunday April 7.

Police and Emergency Services were called to the scene at around 2:45pm, following reports that a rider had lost control.

The 74 year-old Ulverstone man received serious injuries, and was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

One west bound lane of the Bass Highway was temporarily closd while emergency services cleared the scene. 

Investigators do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the motorcycle in the area around the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tasmania Police or Crime Stoppers, which can be done anonymously.
