A third party file transfer that may have led to the loss of data held by the Tasmanian Government is being investigated.
Science and Technology Minister Madeleine Ogilvie issuing a statement that the government is working with forensic specialists to determine the extent of any breach.
Labor’s Dean Winter questions why the government isn’t being more forthcoming with details when this is potentially so serious.
“The Tasmanian government hasn’t done enough to let Tasmanians know what data is at risk here, even to tell us what department might have been impacted by the data breach.”
Minister Ogilvie has assured that if an investigation finds personal details have been compromised, the government will work with those affected and provide support.
