The future’s not bright for Glenorchy’s ageing Memorial Pool.
Engineering consultants are warning council the 60-year-old facility presents significant health and safety risks and should close permanently.
A report to be reviewed at next week’s meeting predicts works to bring the pool up to scratch would take at least two summers, cost more than 5 million dollars and only last around five years.

Earlier this month council announced the pool would remain closed indefinitely.
