The Premier has ended weeks of speculation, announcing Tasmanians will be going to an early election.
Jeremy Rockliff has confirmed he’ll visit the governor tomorrow to ask for her to call the election.
It follows a day of meetings with party colleagues, at the end of a breakdown in relations with former party members now independents Lara Alexander and John Tucker.
The Premier says his decision is the only way to restore stability.
March 23 is being put forward as the likely date for the election.
