TasTAFE report reaction
There's a mixed reaction to the latest annual report out of TasTAFE.
Labor's seized on falling numbers at the vocational education provider - last year they had dropped 7% to just over 21,000, before the pandemic hit.
Shadow Skills Minister David O'Byrne says it's time for the Liberals to adopt the Opposition's Free TAFE policy, with students down by 27% since the Liberals came to power in 2014, activity hours dropping by more than a third in the same period.
But Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff has pointed to high student and employer satisfaction as well as a $38 million spend on campus upgrades and new facilities around the state.
