Dodges Ferry woman gets lucky
A lucky Southern Tasmanian woman is $100,000 richer.
The Dodges Ferry local describes her weekly ritual of picking up a few instant scratch tickets as "a little treat for herself".
“I always make myself a cup of coffee, sit down at the table and scratch them, and then I yell out to my whole family that I am holding a winner, and this time, it was true!" she said.
“And if I did win, I always thought I’d jump up and down and scream, but I was so blown away that I could barely say a word.
“I headed straight to the newsagency to check and they thought something was wrong because I was shaking so much."
She's now planning house renovations, some gifts to the kids and savings for the future.
Dodges Ferry Newsagency & Post Office on Hobart's outskirts was where the winning $5 ticket was sold.
