Glenorchy fire deliberately lit
A fire in Glenorchy in the early hours of Saturday morning (7th October) appears to have been deliberately lit, according to the Tasmania Fire Service.
At approximately 1.30am firies and Police were called to a house fire in Norman Circle, Glenorchy. The kitchen area of the vacant home was well alight, however it was quickly extinguished by members of the Tasmania Fire Service. No persons or animals were in the home at the time, and no one is injured.
Tasmania Fire Service Investigators conducted an assessment of the fire stating that it appears to have been deliberately lit, and the damage is estimated at $150,000.
The scene and investigations have been handed over to Glenorchy CIB who are continuing their investigations.
