A man and a woman are due in court today, accused of a frightening weekend robbery at a motel in Hobart's north.

The pair aged 31 and 27, both of West Moonah, were arrested following an incident at the Martin Cash Motel on Main Road at Derwent Park.

Police allege they approached a motel guest in his room, menacing him with a knife and then fleeing with his belongings around 9.30 on Saturday night.

Glenorchy Detectives have charged them with aggravated armed robbery and are now appealing for witnesses.

"Information can be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperstas.com.au, or by calling Glenorchy CIB on 617 32881," said Detective Senior Constable Angus Dobner.
