Gadsby's emmy nod
Tasmanian comedian Hannah Gadsby is one of the nominees in this year's Emmy Awards.
Gadsby's groundbreaking live performance, Nanette, is up against big hitters like Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen in two categories: Best Variety Special (pre-recorded) and Writing for a Variety Special.
The Smithton girl has Tweeted that she's "pretty chuffed" at the recognition.
Other Australians in the hunt include production designer Deborah Riley, nominated for her work on Game of Thrones, as well as Handmaid's Tale cinematographer Zoe White.
GOT has garnered 32 nominations overall, a record for a single year.
Nominated for an Emmy! Well I’m pretty chuffed. Hard to know what the boys make of it. I reckon they want Emmy to mean ‘food’ or ‘park’. Time will tell. pic.twitter.com/RkoRG5u96G— Hannah Gadsby (@Hannahgadsby) July 16, 2019
