Bothwell GP loss
An age old scenario of a small Tasmanian town wrestling with keeping a GP service is catching up with Bothwell in the Central Highlands municipality.
The surgery, due to close at the end of the week, has around 600 patients on the books, servicing nearby communities, as well as the town itself.
Under interrogation from Labor, Health Minister Sarah Courtney insists the government is still trying to find a solution.
"Through the department we are doing everything we can to be able to work with that community to explore options and to look at ways that we can ensure that we have service delivery for that community into the future."
Scottsdale and Bridport will lose clinics in December when Dr Paul McGinity retires, but each have another service.
