Can’t be worse than the last couple Rewinds.
Spotify Wrapped is a magical time of year where people can either flex on their friends with their music taste or feel horrifically embarrassed by just how much we listened to one particular artist this year. But YouTube has decided to throw their hat into the ring this year with their own version of the Wrapped titled YouTube Recap. Typically, YouTube releases a “YouTube Rewind” which is a video of their own making which highlights the biggest digital hits on their platform from the year. The last few have been received poorly so perhaps this YouTube Recap might be a good replacement.
Similar to the Spotify format (which has now been adopted by Apple Music and Amazon) it includes your greatest video watching habits from 2025. These include your top channels, greatest interests, and how your taste progressed over the year to then reveal a “personality type” based on these stats. The Recap has already dropped in the States today and will come down under later this week. An example of what these slides may look like are below:
